The Military Counterintelligence Service (SKW) has identified a Russian citizen who conducted intelligence activities to the detriment of Poland. In recent days, the man has been detained by the Military Gendarmerie and charged with espionage. Under the court’s decision, he was temporarily arrested.

Cyber threats have been on the rise for years. The challenges of cyberattacks have grown even more acute during the escalating crisis around Ukraine, particularly since Russia's military invasion of Ukraine began. In response to current threats the alert level ALFA-CRP was introduced in Poland, and then CHARLIE-CRP, which will be in force until April 15, 2022.

Poland’s Internal Security Agency (ABW) has detained a Polish national on suspicion of espionage for the Russian secret services. The arrest took place in Warsaw on March 17, 2022.

Poland’s Internal Security Agency (ABW) has identified 45 individuals - Russian secret services officers and persons related to them enjoying diplomatic status in Poland. Their expulsion from the territory of Poland is requested by the Head of the ABW.

On March 21, 2022, Director of the Central Intelligence Agency William J. Burns visited Poland. One of key points of the visit was a meeting with Poland’s Minister-Special Services Coordinator Mariusz Kamiński. The two highest-level intelligence and security officials discussed the current security challenges stemming from the war waged by Russia against Ukraine.

Five persons have been charged in connection with alleged irregularities in tenders announced in Regional Branches of the Military Property Agency. The proceedings have been conducted by the CBA Regional Office in Poznań, under the supervision of the Military Affairs Division of the District Prosecutor's Office in Poznań.

Officers of the Internal Security Agency (ABW) detained, on suspicion of espionage, a citizen of Spain of Russian origins. The man is accused of participating in foreign intelligence activities against Poland.

At the request of the Head of the Internal Security Agency the first alert level ALFA-CRP, concerning cyberspace, has been introduced in Poland by the Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. The alert is valid from February 15, 2022 (11:59 p.m.) through February 28, 2022 (11:59 p.m.).
