Ambasador A. Dmochowski

Artur Dmochowski, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland in the Kingdom of Thailand and in countries of additional accreditation: Lao People's Democratic Republic and the Kingdom of Cambodia, is a seasoned diplomat.

He completed with MA degree history studies at the Jagiellonian University, where subsequently he continued his doctoral studies. He also obtained the MA degree in international relations at the Monterey Institute of International Studies in California and completed postgraduate studies in foreign policy at the University of Maryland.

In 1992 he joined diplomatic service at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, moving through successive professional ranks and reaching the position of Advisor to the Minister.

As a representative of Poland, he took part in peacekeeping missions: in Georgia and in Bosnia-Herzegovina where he served as Spokesman of the OSCE Mission, and from 2000 to 2006 he headed the Economic and Commercial Department of the Embassy of Poland in Rome.

In 2015 and 2016 he served as Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and subsequently as Deputy Director-General of the Diplomatic Academy.

In 2018, he was nominated Ambassador of Poland in Montenegro and completed his mission in 2023. Concurrently, during Poland’s presidency at the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe in 2022, he served as Special Envoy, carrying out numerous diplomatic missions in Europe and Asia, including several trips to Ukraine.

Throughout his career, Ambassador Dmochowski has been also active in other areas, mainly in the media where, inter alia he has founded a new television channel, TVP Historia and headed the Polish Press Agency.

He is the author of a number of books, including most notably the history of the Indochina Wars in XX Century, which serves as a textbook for students of international relations.

He’s been also actively involved in the field of public affairs, i.a. as a founding member of the Independent Students' Union in 1980. He was awarded the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, as well as the Cross of Freedom and Solidarity and "Thank you for Freedom" and "Steadfast in Word" medals. In 2023, he received the Order of the Montenegrin Flag from the President of Montenegro.

Married. Wife Monika is also a diplomat.
