Virtual Garden Announced to Honour Krzysztof Penderecki: The Adam Mickiewicz Institute is seeding a virtual, interactive garden inspired by the work of Krzysztof Penderecki. Penderecki’s Garden will attain full bloom on 23rd November, the composer’s birthday.

On 10 April 2010, a special TU-154M plane with the President of Poland Lech Kaczyński and the First Lady Maria Kaczyńska on board took off from Warsaw to Smolensk. On that very day the members of the official delegation were to participate in the ceremonies taking place in the Katyn War Cemetery, commemorating the 70th anniversary of the crime committed there. The aircraft carried 96 people, including members of the highest state authorities, representatives of various social circles and religious denominations, high-ranking military commanders and the plane’s crew. All the flight passengers died in the air disaster which took place during landing at the airport near Smolensk.

"Chopin, from Warsaw to Bangkok" concert in a tribute to one of the most remarkable composers in the history of music, Fryderyk Chopin organised by the Embassy of Poland in Bangkok in cooperation with Bangkok Chopin Society on 12.03.2020 in Alliance Française proved that that friendship and good music has no boundaries!

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Bangkok in cooperation with Bangkok Chopin Society will host “Chopin, from Warsaw to Bangkok” concert and exhibition dedicated to the great Polish composer Fryderyk Chopin in order to celebrate 210th anniversary of composer’s birth and incoming 18th edition of the most prestigious and worldwide acclaimed International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw.

“Poland believes that Southeast Asia countries have a great potential, especially with regard to commercial relations. In order to boost economic cooperation, we need to enhance political dialogue” underlined Deputy Minister Marcin Przydacz during his visit to Thailand and Myanmar.
