Children storybook project in Laos

The EU Delegation to Lao PDR and ten EU Member States including Poland are launching a joint cultural initiative with the aim to share their children's books with Lao children. These storybooks, focusing on the environmental related issues, will be provided for free to libraries in the country by the end of this year.

The story books from Austria, Cyprus, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal and Spain will then be translated into Lao with 1,500 copies each in order to better suit the needs of Lao children.

These books, with very attractive illustrations and pictures are primarily designed for children aged seven to 12 years old and will be distributed to the National Library of Laos as well as to other libraries in the country where the number of books for children is still limited.

This projects is aimed at promoting European culture in the ASEAN region and beyond, under the new slogan "Green Team Europe" and will further contribute to promoting Polish culture in Laos.
