27.06.2022

hurricane

Please note that the annual hurricane and tropical storm season in the Atlantic Ocean began on June 1 and will last until November 30. The most hurricane activity typically occurs in August, September, and October. This year, two of the most important forecast centers in the U.S. – CSU (Colorado State University) and NOAA (National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration) – predict about 20 tropical storms, with wind speeds equal to at least 63 km/h; nine of them will achieve hurricane status with a wind speed of at least 120 km/h, and four may become severe hurricanes with winds above 185 km/h.

2022 is set to be the seventh consecutive year with a higher than average number of hurricanes.

As such, please follow all relevant weather forecasts and reports on hurricanes and tropical storm conditions, e.g. on the National Hurricane Center's website, especially for the following states: Florida, Texas, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia and New York. In the event that such storms do form, we recommend following the instructions and guidelines of local authorities.
