The data compiled from the 2020 Census will be used to determine how federal funds, in the amount of $675 billion per year, will be distributed to states and communities over the next decade for various social goals, including those related to the activities of the various ethnic groups residing in the U.S.

The Census questionnaire will be an opportunity to declare your Polish roots when identifying your racial origins. Furthermore, Polish is one of 13 languages in which respondents can fill out the Census questionnaire online or over the phone.

The 2020 Census will determine the current size of the Polish-American community and its results may influence subsequent decisions regarding the allocation of federal funding for projects of importance to the Polish diaspora.

For this reason, it is important that everyone who identifies with their Polish roots should take part in the 2020 Census and declare their Polish origin.
