EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Washington, D.C., is seeking candidates for the full-time

position of:

Technical Support Staff Member (Full-Time – 40 hours/week)

 

Location:

Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Washington, 2640 16th Street NW, Washington DC 20009

Starting date:

May 10th, 2026 (the earliest)

Employment type:

Local hire under U.S. labour law (full-time)

Main Responsibilities (non-exhaustive list):

  • General maintenance: installing/removing signs, banners, information boards, and displays inside and outside buildings, cleaning pipes, gutters, downspouts, inspections, sweeping around buildings and sidewalks directly in front of the premises, protecting installations from frost, clearing snow from stairs, sidewalks, and parking lots, applying salt, removing icicles, chipping ice, etc.;
  • Repairs inside and outside the buildings: replacing burnt-out light bulbs, repairing leaky faucets, cisterns, and bathroom fixtures, repairing/replacing door handles, locks, self-closing mechanisms, damaged switches, sockets, and bathroom fans, unclogging vertical and horizontal sewer lines, repairing roller blinds and shutters, and repairing minor window and door joinery, painting small surfaces, etc.;
  • Logistics and transport (assistance in: unloading and loading goods; helping to move in/out apartments of diplomatic staff; organizing meetings, technical assistance in preparing the meeting rooms, etc.).

Essential requirements:

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States (US citizen/US Permanent Resident/work permit);
  • Reliability, discretion, strong work ethic, team player and service-oriented;
  • Experience in general maintenance, technical&IT equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Good communication skills
  • Communicative in English. Knowledge of Polish language would be an asset.
  • Have a valid driver’s license.

Working Conditions & benefits:

  • Salary will be set individually, based on qualifications and working experience.
  • A one-year contract, with the possibility extend if work is up to standard.
  • 20 days of paid annual leave + 5 paid sick days, in addition US and Polish federal holidays.
