On March 3, Mr. Daniel Gromann, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Venezuela, delivered the lecture “Poland: A Turbulent History, the Democratic Transition, and the Country’s Role in the Current International Context”. The event was organized together with the International Studies Student Center of the Metropolitan University (UNIMET).
The lecture took place at the Pensieri Auditorium on the university campus and was moderated by International Studies professor and Polish descendant Henryk Domiter. The session lasted approximately two hours.
During the lecture, Mr. Gromann presented a general overview of Poland’s history from the eighteenth century to the present, with special emphasis on the country’s peaceful transition to democracy and its role in the contemporary international system. He also highlighted the progress that has established Poland as a modern, prosperous and democratic country, as well as the ties between Poland and Venezuela.
The event was attended by more than 100 participants, mainly students, and also by university authorities, including the Director of the School of International Studies, Prof. Eduardo Mondolfi. At the end of the lecture, a question-and-answer session was held with the audience, and certificates of attendance were later sent to participants by email. The event was promoted exclusively through Instagram.
