24.04.2026
On the occasion of the first celebration of Polish-French Friendship Day, the Embassies of the Republic of Poland and the Republic of France in Venezuela held the concert “Chopin and Sand: a story in letters and music.”
The event, organized jointly with El Sistema Nacional de Orquestas de Venezuela, took place at the emblematic Fedora Alemán Hall of the National Center for Social Action through Music (CNASPM).
The activity focused on intertwining the musical genius of the Polish composer Fryderyk Chopin with the intellectual sharpness of the French writer George Sand. The curation and presentation of the program were led by the renowned composer and professor Diana Arismendi, who guided the audience through a narrative that combined the reading of excerpts from the correspondence between both artists with a carefully selected musical repertoire.
The program not only honored Chopin’s work, but also included a piece by the French composer Erik Satie, creating a sonic bridge between both nations.
The musical performance was the highlight of the event, featuring the young pianist Samuel Abraham González Quintero. At just 11 years old, González Quintero demonstrated why he is considered one of the brightest emerging talents of the Venezuelan music scene, performing with the solidity of a concert pianist and a talented composer.
His participation at the Fedora Alemán Hall adds to his already remarkable trajectory in important venues such as the Simón Bolívar Hall.
The event included remarks by the Chargé d’Affaires of Poland in Venezuela, Mr. Daniel Gromann, and the Ambassador of France in Venezuela, Mr. Emmanuel Pineda, who delivered opening words focused on bilateral cooperation and shared cultural heritage. Both diplomats agreed that this event was an invitation to rediscover the historical, artistic, and intellectual ties that unite their countries, which continue to resonate strongly today.
