Connect with Europe 2026

On September 25, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Caracas took part in the European Education Fair “Connect with Europe”, held at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV) as part of the celebrations of the European Day of Languages. The event was jointly organized by the Delegation of the European Union in Venezuela and the EUNIC Caracas cluster, which has been chaired by the Embassy of Poland since August and brings together European cultural institutes and the embassies of European countries present in Venezuela.

This was the first event organized by EUNIC Caracas under the Polish presidency and, at the same time, the first initiative to combine the European Day of Languages celebrations with a European Education Fair within a single project. As such, it became one of the largest one-day initiatives jointly organized by the European Union and its Member States in Venezuela.

This year’s edition featured the participation of the embassies of Poland, France, Portugal, Greece, Hungary, and Germany, as well as their cultural institutes, including the Goethe-Institut, Alliance Française, and Instituto Camões. The event also received support from the Embassy of Switzerland, the British Council, and several bodies of the Central University of Venezuela, including the Directorate of Culture, the Office of the Academic Vice-Rector, the Central Library, the Directorate of Community Engagement, and the Council for the Preservation and Development of UCV (COPRED).

The Embassy of Poland in Caracas played an active role in both the organization and implementation of the event. In addition to collaborating with the Delegation of the European Union in coordinating the initiative, the Embassy set up an information booth and conducted an open Polish language lesson. It also presented the “Study in Poland” session, providing information on higher education opportunities in Poland and on the programs offered by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).

The Polish side also participated in the cultural opening segment of the event, organized by Instituto Camões. As part of this program, a Portuguese poem was recited in the languages represented at the event: German, French, English, Greek, Portuguese, and Polish.

The event concluded with a concert held as part of the 4th Euro-Venezuelan Jazz Festival, featuring musicians from Poland and Switzerland. The concert was preceded by remarks from Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Daniel Gromann. The performance served as the cultural highlight of the day, underscoring the importance of European cultural exchange and cooperation, which were central themes throughout the event.
