Award ceremony for Prof. Arqile Teta during the 28th edition of the Book Fair.

Professor Arqile Teta is a distinguished translator of Polish literature and has been honored for his entire body of work as a translator and his contribution to the promotion of Polish literature in Albania. A graduate of the AGH University of Science and Technology (in the 1950s), he has been introducing Polish authors to readers in Albania for many years.  Prof. Teta compiled a Polish-Albanian and Albanian-Polish dictionary and wrote the only monograph on Prof. Stanisław Zuber, entitled “Profesor Stanisław Zuber życie i dzieło” (“Professor Stanisław Zuber: His Life and Work”). He also translated into Albanian a book by Polish historian Marcin Bielski entitled “O Skanderbegu Macedonie albańskim książęciu” (“About Skanderbeg, the Albanian Prince of Macedonia”) and works by Czesław Miłosz. Thanks to his work, Arqile Teta has significantly contributed to the popularization of Polish culture in the region.

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Tirana would like to congratulate Prof. Arqile Teta and thank him for his work, passion, and ongoing commitment to the development of literary and cultural relations. We are convinced that this award will motivate him to undertake further ambitious projects. We would also like to thank the organizers of the fair, the Albanian Publishers Association, for creating a space in which outstanding authors and translators have been recognized.
