Poland in Albania

On December 14, a festive concert of Polish and international Christmas carols organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland was held at St. Paul's Cathedral in Tirana, performed by the six-member vocal ensemble AdVocem from Warsaw.

On December 10-12, a group of Polish MPs representing the Polish-Albanian Parliamentary Group visited Albania: Group Chairman Bartosz Romowicz, Vice-Chairmen Piotr Górnikiewicz and Teresa Pamuła, and group member Paweł Śliz. The MPs met with the Speaker of the Albanian Assembly, Niko Peleshi, as well as with a group of deputies from the Democratic Party, including MP Bujar Leskaj, a friend of Poland and a distinguished promoter of Poland in Albania. They also visited the city of Pogradec, where they took part in the grand opening of a new fire station built with financial support from the Polish government.

On December 9, Wojciech Unolt, Chargé d'Affaires at the Polish Embassy in Tirana, officially handed out certificates of completion of vocational training for prosthetic technicians, implemented as part of the "Polish Aid" development aid program in cooperation with the National Association of Persons with Disabilities "Hope for Life".

What does it mean to get to know Wisława Szymborska's world up close? Participants in a meeting with Michał Rusinek, the Nobel Prize winner's secretary and current president of the Wisława Szymborska Foundation, sought answers to this question. The literary scholar, translator, essayist, and lecturer at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow shared his memories of his years of collaboration with the poet and his reflections on her work.

On December 3 and 4, 2025, a documentary film entitled "Conflict” premiered. The film, which focuses on the phenomenon of disinformation, foreign manipulation of information, and attempts to interfere with the information space in Albania, was produced by the Albanian fact-checking organization Faktoje with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Tirana. The aim of the project was to raise public awareness and promote reliable, verified information, especially at a time when false narratives are spreading faster than ever.

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities, celebrated on December 3rd was an opportunity to officially hand over innovative educational equipment to the Luigj Gurakuqi Special School in Tirana as part of the "Polish Aid" development aid project implemented through the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Tirana. Chargé d'Affaires of the Republic of Poland Mr. Wojciech Unolt officially handed over the equipment to school's principal Mr. Taulant Çala, in the presence of Arta Dollani, Director of Pre-University Education, and Ana Mullanji, a representative of the partner organization, Beyond Barriers Association.

Chargé d'Affaires a.i. RP Wojciech Unolt, accompanied by Colonel Przemysław Bałut and Consul of the Republic of Poland Kamila Grzybowska-Kisiel, visited the Albanian town of Kuçova, where they paid tribute to the Polish geologist Stanisław Zuber by laying a wreath at his monument.

At the initiative of the Embassy, on November 15, a meeting for Poles and their families living in Albania was held in Vlora.

In the framework of the Book Fair in Tirana, a special ceremony was held to honor Prof. Arqile Teta, an outstanding translator of Polish literature into Albanian. The award, which was ceremoniously presented to the Professor by Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Republic of Poland Wojciech Unolt, is an expression of recognition for the laureate's enormous contribution to the promotion of Polish literature and the development of cultural cooperation between Poland and Albania.

On October 29-30, the international fair "Energy, Construction and Green Economy" took place in Tirana, bringing together exhibitors from the Balkan region and across Europe. Companies and institutions represented the renewable energy sectors (photovoltaics, wind energy, hydropower, bioenergy, geothermal energy), hydrogen technologies, energy storage and management, e-mobility, smart grids, as well as construction and infrastructure (smart building technologies, infrastructure, and mobility solutions; sustainable construction and materials).
