Poland in Albania

The finals of the 17th Tirana Talent International Competition took place on June 7th. The competition covers all musical genres, and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Tirana acted as patron and sponsor of the prizes for the 17th edition of the competition.

The finals of the 29th "The Young Pianist" International Festival took place on May 31st. The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Tirana was the patron and sponsor of the 29th Festival's prizes.

On May 28-29, the "Open Mind, Open Heart" Literature Festival for children and young people took place in Tirana and the surrounding area, organized by Albania's largest publishing house, Dituria. The festival was an opportunity to promote the Polish book "The boy who sees with his fingers" by Tomasz Małkowski, illustrated by Joanna Rusinek.

On the occasion of the 3rd of May Constitution Day and the Day of Polish Diaspora and Poles Abroad, the Embassy of Poland in Tirana organized a gala concert and reception on May 18th.

On May 11, 2026, Chargé d'Affaires of the Republic of Poland Wojciech Unolt presented diplomas of completion of training in forcible entry techniques (door breaching).

On April 19th, at the Balkan Jazz Showcase 2026 festival in Tirana one of Poland's most acclaimed jazz guitarists, Rafał Sarnecki performed with his quintet. The band presented music from their latest album, "A View From The Treetop". The concert is part of the international JAZZ PO POLSKU "Around the World” project.

We are pleased to announce that on April 13, 2026, the National Agency for Academic Exchange announced a call for applications for the Stefan Banach Scholarship Program.

On April 8 and 9, a delegation from the National Fire Service Headquarters, led by Brigadier Tomasz Czyż, visited Albania.

The Entry/Exit System (EES) is Europe's new border management system for registering non-EU nationals travelling for a short stay, each time they cross the external borders of 29 European countries.

On March 26-27, Wojciech Unolt, Head of the Polish Embassy, and Consul Sebastian Sałkiewicz visited Shkodër. The visit aimed to establish contact with local authorities and partners with a view to implementing bilateral cooperation projects, as well as joint development and cultural projects. One of the activities planned by the embassy is to commemorate the Polish doctor Danuta Kościuszko-Jukniu, who worked at the hospital in Shkodër in the 1970s.
