Commemorating the outstanding Polish geologist Prof. Stanisław Zuber

On the 78th anniversary of the death of Prof. Stanisław Zuber, an outstanding Polish geologist, distinguished researcher, and discoverer of Albania's natural resources, Chargé d'Affaires of the Republic of Poland Wojciech Unolt laid a wreath at the plaque commemorating him.
The commemorative plaque, unveiled in 2017, is located on the wall of the Remand Center, where Prof. Stanisław Zuber was imprisoned by the communist regime and where he died on October 18, 1947.
The ceremony commemorating Stanisław Zuber, whose discoveries and studies in the field of geology in the 1930s and 1940s laid the foundations for the development of Albanian geological sciences and the mining industry, was attended by, among others:
- Prof. Arqile Teta - author of a monograph on Prof. Stanisław Zuber;
- Bujar Leskaj - member of parliament and author of numerous press publications on Poland;
- Dr. Çelo Hoxha - director of the Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes in Albania;
- Dr. Albert Nikolla from the Authority for Information on the Documents of the Former State Security.
Representatives of the Polish community in Albania were also present.
