Meeting of Albanian Graduates of Polish Universities
03.10.2025
On September 30, 2025, a meeting with Albanian graduates of Polish universities was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Tirana.
The reception took place in the Embassy garden. The graduates and their guests were welcomed by the Chargé d'Affaires of Poland, Mr. Wojciech Unolt. Among the guests were economists, engineers, lawyers, and specialists in other fields educated in Poland – graduates of top Polish universities such as the University of Warsaw, AGH University of Science and Technology, Warsaw School of Economics, and others.
The oldest graduates graduated from Polish universities in the 1960s, but they still speak fluent Polish today. Among the many guests, we were honored with the presence of Prof. Arqile Teta, a graduate of the AGH University of Science and Technology and a distinguished Albanian translator of Polish literature. His achievements include the first Polish-Albanian dictionary, a monograph on the outstanding Polish geologist, Prof. Stanisław Zuber, a translation of Marcin Bielski's "O Skanderbeg Macedonie, the Albanian Prince" and the poetry of Czesław Miłosz.
In conversations conducted primarily in Polish, the graduates emphasized their still-living emotional bond with Poland and recalled with satisfaction their time at university, which allowed them to make a significant contribution to the development of Albania.
This year's meeting was a return to an old tradition, held for the first time in several years. We hope that in the future, the group of guests will grow year by year with subsequent cohorts of Albanian graduates of Polish universities.
