National Reading 2025 in Brussels

06.09.2025

On 6 September, the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Brussels hosted this year's edition of the National Reading, held under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland. This year's event was devoted to the works of Jan Kochanowski.

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Brussels, in cooperation with the Jan Brzechwa Polish School at the Polish Educational Society, organised another edition of the National Reading under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland. This year’s readings were dedicated to the works of Jan Kochanowski – a poet whose writing have, for centuries, formed a cornerstone of Polish culture.

More than 20 readers took part, representing Polish schools and organisations and the Polish commubity abroad, as well as guests from Poland. A special highlight was the participation of a Belgian scholar from KU Leuven. The readings were accompanied by musical interpretations of Kochanowski’s works, which emphasised the timeless nature of his poetry.

We would like to thank all participants and the audience for joining us in celebrating Polish literature in the heart of Brussels.
