Polish Day in Brussels

Polish Day in Brussels 2023

We invite all Bruxellois, as well as all visiting Brussels, on Sunday, 7th May to join the second edition of this family-friendly picnic organized in the iconic Parc du Cinquantenaire.  This year, traditional May festivities – Polish Heritage Days - organized worldwide by the Polish diaspora will include many exceptional attractions inspired by Nicolaus Copernicus, a famous Polish astronomer on the 550th anniversary of his birth.

“The event is addressed to all who would like to learn more about Poland, the country with a fascinating culture and a rich history - strongly linked with Belgium due to the success of the liberation army of General Maczek and certainly you do not need to know Polish to join us!” ” said Ambassador Rafał Siemianowski.

The program of the picnic includes not only plenty of free activities for all generations, competitions with interesting prizes associated with Copernicus, but also dancing. At the invitation of the Polish Institute, the The Cracovia Danza Court Ballet will perform on stage, presenting fragments of the spectacles "Planets Moved by Dance" and "Alla Polacca". The performance will end with dancing together with the audience. In the evening we invite everyone to a concert of young Polish star Kwiat Jabłoni (The Apple Blossom). It will be also an amazing opportunity to try traditional Polish delicacies and beer and representatives of the Polish Regions will bring the best of Poland’s healthy, artisanal food and drinks to Cinquantenaire.

The event will be possible thanks to the hard work and commitment of the Polish Embassy teaming up with the Polish Educational Society (Polska Macierz Szkolna) and Help Centre Belgium (Sztab Pomocy Belgia) whose volunteers have tirelessly served those who needed support during the pandemics, the July 2021 Belgian floods and, recently – refugees from Ukraine. The co-organizers are also the Polish Institute Brussels, the Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Poland to NATO, Polish Tourism Organisation and the Polish Regions.

The strategic partner of the event and the main sponsor is Comarch BeNeLux, one of the leading Polish IT companies investing in Benelux.

The organizers are equally grateful to Gaz-System SA, Tectum, National Bank of Poland, LOT Polish Airlines, Magabel and Meta 4, for their support.

The event is scheduled to take place on Sunday May 7th from 14:00-22:00. All updates will be available on the Facebook page of the Embassy of Poland in Belgium.

Come and join us to enjoy Spring in Polish!
