76th anniversary of the 1944 Warsaw Uprising



The participants of the Warsaw Rising living in Canada, representatives of the SPK Canada Branch no. 8 in Ottawa, the Canadian Polish Congress Ottawa Region, the Embassy of Poland, Ottawa and members of the Polish community in Ottawa held a minute of silence in commemoration of the 76th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Rising.

The event took place on the 1st of August, 2020 at 11:00, local time (17:00 in Warsaw) at the Confederation Park in Ottawa, under the monument dedicated to Canadian soldiers who fell while helping war-ridden Warsaw. Ambassador Andrzej Kurnicki, Consul Jacek Bryniak, Defence Attaché Cmdr. Krzysztof Książek laid a wreath at the monument on behalf of our Embassy.
