SPHERES - Concert for the centenary of Stanislaw Lem

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in collaboration with the Fundation Ars Activa and the Chopin Montreal invites to “SPHERES - Concert for the centenary of Stanislaw Lem”, one of the most respected thinkers and Science Fiction writers of the past century. The concert will be held on December 6, 2021 at 7:30 pm at Southminster United Church in Ottawa.

The concert will feature the North-American premieres of works written for the centenary of Stanislaw Lem, amongst them "Return from the Stars" by Norbert Palej (with a video from the International Space Station, which is currently being shown in the Polish Pavilion of Expo 2020 in Dubai) and „Kyklosis” by Wojciech Michno. Program will also include works by Fryderyk Chopin, Claude Debussy, Denis Gougeon, Ludovico Einaudi, Henryk Górecki, Steven Massicotte, Max Richter, Karol Szymanowski, and recitation of fragments from Stanisław Lem's works.
