Mr Aleksander Pociej was born on February 7, 1965 in Warsaw.
Education
Upon graduation from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw in 1988, he completed postgraduate studies Dess Droit International du Commerce at the Université de Paris X Nanterre.
From 1992 to 1995, a trainee attorney at the Lawyer Service Law Firm in Warsaw.
Between 1989–92 work in law firms in Paris and New York.
From 1995 to 2011, partner at the Pociej, Dubois i Wspólnicy Law Firm.
Parliamentary activity (Senate of the Republic of Poland)
Senator of the 8th, 9th, and 10th term.
In the Senate of the 8th term, he was elected a deputy chairman of the National Economy Committee.
In the Senate of the 9th term, he held a position of the deputy chairman of the Legislative Committee.
In the Senate of the 10th term, appointed to the position of the chairman of the Committee on Human Rights, Rule of Law and Petitions.
During his parliamentary activity, he was a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and chairman of the Group of the European People's Party in the PACE.

Knight of the French Legion of Honor (Chevalier de la Legion of d'Honneur) since 2015.
Current position
From November 2024, Chargé d'affaires ad interim at the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Poland to the Council of Europe.
