26.03.2026 LilleOn 26 March 2026 acting on behalf of Poland, Maciej Wróbel, State Secretary at the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, signed the Council of Europe Convention on the Co-production of Audiovisual Works in the Form of Series. The signing ceremony took place in Lille (France) during the Series Mania festival. This Convention constitutes the first international legal framework dedicated to the independent co-production of television and streaming series and represents a decisive step for the European and global audiovisual sector in times of rapid change.

The Seminar's special guest was Michael O'Flaherty, Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe. Due to increased importance of migration, this year's edition focused on the legal and geopolitical contexts of migration.

25.06.2025On June 25, during the official visit of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, an agreement was signed between the Council of Europe and Ukraine regarding the establishment of a Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine and the Statute of the Special Tribunal in the Meeting Room of the Committee of Ministers at the Palace of Europe. The Secretary General, Alain Berset, signed the agreement on behalf of the Council of Europe.
