Polish Hill - Poolamägi

1

Polish Hill is the area of the former Catholic cemetery established at the beginning of the 19th century. Due to the fact that Poles constituted the majority of Catholics at that time, and the main part of the cemetery was located on a hill, the name Polish Hill (Poolamägi) was attached to the place.

In the 1930s, the cemetery was partly abandoned, but it was completely destroyed in the early 1950s, and a park was created in its place.

The site of the cemetery is commemorated by a plaque from November 3, 1990, and a plaque dedicated to the memory of Poles buried there, which was erected on July 27, 2010.

Location: Tallinn, south end of Staadioni Street
