    The 2nd edition of the Competition will be held from September 11 to 18, 2021 at the Philharmonic Artur Malawski in the city of Rzeszów. Participants will compete for a total prize pool of over 80,000. EUR in two categories - piano and chamber ensembles. The competition is organized by the Institute of Music and Dance, and the main financial prizes are funded by the Ministry of Culture, National Heritage and Sport.

    The Minister of Foreign Affairs announces a contest for the best foreign language publication promoting the history of Poland and the best Polish language publication on the history of Polish diplomacy. The contest welcomes works which were published in 2020. Historians can submit their works until 15 August 2021.

    On the occasion of the celebration of our National Day on the 230th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution on May 3, 1791 we invite you to watch Stanisław Moniuszko's opera "The Haunted Manor". The masterpiece is characterized by romantic and comedic features and at the same time by a strong patriotic flavor. The Opera was written after the fall of the January Uprising in 1864. It is considered to be the best opera by Moniuszko and the best Polish masterpiece of this type from the 19th century.

    This year we celebrate the 230th anniversary of the May 3rd 1791 Constitution. It was the first modern written constitution adopted in Europe. It was also the second constitution in the world after the United States.

    When on 3 May 1791 the Four-Year Sejm also called the Great Sejm adopted The Government Act of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth later known as the Constitution of 3 May, the Polish-Lithuanian state became the Europe’s first and the world’s second that passed the basic law. For its time, it was a progressive and bold legal act which initiated a number of reforms. It also constituted a crowning achievement of the centuries-old links between Poland and Lithuania.
