From 6 to 8 of May 2025, the Defence Exhibition Athens DEFEA took place in Athens, one of the most important defence industry events in Europe and the leading exhibition in Southeastern Europe. This year edition brought together 436 exhibitors from 37 countries and featured 18 national pavilions. Official delegations from 45 countries attended the event, including a delegation from the Polish Ministry of National Defence.

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Athens, in cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology (MRiT), organized a seminar entitled “Strengthening Security – Polish Defence Sector on the Global Markets.” The event provided an opportunity to present Poland’s defence and security priorities, including those related to its upcoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Speeches were delivered by the Head of Mission and the Defence Attaché, with the latter focusing in particular on the potential for bilateral cooperation in the defence sector.

The Head of the Department for Defence Industry Export and Offset Programmes at the Ministry presented the Polish Defence Sector Business Portal – a modern tool that supports the promotion of Polish defence companies and facilitates contacts with foreign partners. The presentation also included an overview of selected offers from both state-owned and private Polish defence enterprises.

In addition, the Embassy and MRiT set up an information stand serving as a platform for promoting the Polish defence industry and fostering economic cooperation with international partners. Poland’s presence at DEFEA 2025 reflects the growing interest of Polish defence companies in the Greek market and more broadly in the region, including Arab states, whose representatives were highly engaged during the event. For the Embassy, DEFEA 2025 also served as an important venue for strengthening contacts within both public administration and the industrial sector.
