IGF 2019

9 December 2019 saw another edition of the Polish Internet Governance Forum (IGF PL), held once again in Warsaw. As always, the Forum was an opportunity for multilateral and open debates on challenges concerning the functioning of the Internet. This year’s IGF PL was attended by more than 250 people, who represented a variety of backgrounds including government, business, NGOs, as well as academia and technological organisations.

who were all involved in preparing a comprehensive agenda. A record number of 27 organisations were invited to join forces with the organisers. The agenda of the 2019 IGF PL covered topics such as the Digital Services Act , the Educational Anti-Smog Network, online tools serving local governments and residents, as well as analytical platforms using open data – and more. The participants brought up a variety of issues, including the potential of artificial intelligence, future-oriented skills and challenges that we are going to face in connection with technological progress and the digital revolution, as well as building good habits connected with using the Internet. They also talked about taxes in the digital economy, development of fast and secure e-commerce, and technologies supporting cybersecurity.
