Poland in Iran

The site Polish War Cemeteries in Iran is dedicated to documenting the cemeteries across Iran that hold Polish graves — the resting places of soldiers of the Polish Armed Forces and of the civilian refugees, many of them women and children, who reached Iran during the Second World War.

For each cemetry its history, photographs, precise location, a virtual tour (if available), and a register of the names of those buried there are gathered. The aim is to make this information freely accessible to descendants, researchers and anyone who wishes to remember.

The site was created by local partners in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Tehran. The project is in its initial stage and will be continued further on.
