"We are united by the well-being of children, so we should cooperate on introducing systemic changes in international family disputes," said Deputy Minister Zuzanna Rudzińska-Bluszcz during today's (February 28) meeting with representatives of diplomatic missions. The meeting was devoted to cross-border family proceedings. The Minister stressed that the talks organized at the Ministry of Justice show the Ministry's openness to cooperation with its counterparts in other countries.

Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar and Deputy Ministers Dariusz Mazur and Krzysztof Śmiszek met with the Director General Christos Giakoumopoulos of the Human Rights and Rule of Law Directorate of the Council of Europe. The main topic of the talks was the implementation of the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights concerning the independence of courts and judges.

“Poland and the United Kingdom should work together to bring to justice the perpetrators of the Russian aggression against Ukraine,” stressed the Minister of Justice, Prosecutor General Adam Bodnar during today's (February 26) meeting with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Poland, Anna Clunes.

On February 26, 2024, Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar and Deputy Minister Krzysztof Śmiszek met with OSCE ODIHR Director Matteo Mecacci. The main topic of the meeting was the possibilities of cooperation between the Ministry of Justice and the ODIHR Office and support of this institution in the process of restoring the rule of law in Poland.

The Committee for the Selection of the National Public Prosecutor Candidate, appointed by the Minister of Justice and headed by Deputy Minister Maria Ejchart, has selected a candidate for the National Public Prosecutor – Prosecutor Dariusz Korneluk.

On the eve of the second anniversary of the outbreak of the war in Ukraine (February 23, 2024), Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar took part in a conference organized by the German Federal Ministry of Justice.

Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar and Deputy Minister Krzysztof Śmiszek presented the Polish Action Plan for restoring the rule of law at a meeting of the General Affairs Council of the European Union today. The main points of the planned reform concern the National Council of the Judiciary (KRS), the Supreme Court (SN), the Constitutional Tribunal (TK), and the separation of the office of the Minister of Justice and the Prosecutor General.

"We are determined to work towards restoring the rule of law in Poland. My dream is that on May 1, 2024, as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of Poland's accession to the European Union, Article 7 of the Treaty on European Union will no longer weigh upon us," said Justice Minister Adam Bodnar at a press conference after a two-day meeting of the EU Justice and Home Affairs Council (JHA) in Brussels.

On January 31, 2024, Minister of Justice and Attorney General Adam Bodnar issued an order to establish a team for selecting candidates for the position of European Prosecutor. Poland, at the request of Minister Bodnar, is in the process of joining the European Public Prosecutor's Office.

Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar and Deputy Minister Krzysztof Śmiszek will represent Poland at the informal meeting of the EU Council on Justice and Home Affairs (JHA) on January 26, 2024.
