Skłodowska-Curie was the first woman awarded the Nobel Prize and one on the few individuals who received the award in two categories: Physics (1903) and Chemistry (1911).

She worked with her husband Pierre Curie at the Sorbonne University in Paris. After his tragic death, she succeeded him as Professor of General Physics in the Faculty of Sciences, the first time a woman had held this position. She was also appointed Director of the Curie Laboratory in the Radium Institute of the University of Paris, founded in 1914.

The event was organised in cooperation with the French Insitute In Kuwait in a form of diwaniya (an exceptional Kuwaiti tradition), and gathered science enthusiasts, members of the diplomatic community as well as Francophones living in Kuwait.

It was a perfect opportunity to gather, connect, and share in a friendly atmosphere!
