Standing with Ukraine

In cooperation with the diplomatic mission of Ukraine, the Polish Embassy hosted an event showing solidarity with the people of Ukraine who have been defending themselves from Russia’s full-scale invasion for 3 years.
The main part of the program was the screening of the documentary ‘In the Rearview’, directed by Maciej Hamela. This Polish-French-Ukrainian movie poignantly presents the stories of the people who try to escape the war-torn Ukraine to Poland or other countries in Europe.
The participants in the event – members of the diplomatic corps, Kuwaitis, representatives of the Polish and Ukrainian communities living in Kuwait – also had an opportunity to get acquainted with the exhibition of photographies documenting the beginning of the Russian invasion in 2022.
The aim of the meeting in the Polish post was to show solidarity with Ukraine in the face of its defensive war and to underscore Poland’s commitment to the rules of international law, including the principles of territorial integrity and inviolability of the borders.
Moreover, in the days preceding the 3rd anniversary of the Russian aggression, the heads of the diplomatic missions of Poland and the European Union published an op-ed in Kuwaiti press in which they pointed to the need of further support for Ukraine in its battle for freedom and independence.
