11.11.2021On 11 November 1918, 103 years ago, Poland regained its independence. On this day, after his release from the Magdeburg Fortress, Józef Piłsudski took over military command from the Regency Council and, three days later, assumed supreme authority over civilian matters, to finally “as Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Army [...] notify belligerent and neutral governments and nations” of the reappearance of “the reborn and independent Republic of Poland” on the map. After 123 years of captivity, Poland became a sovereign and internationally recognised state.

10.11.2021 VallettaOn November 10th, the Polish Embassy organized an event on the occasion of Independence Day and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Poland and Malta. The guest of honor was the President of Malta, George Vella, and his wife. The event was held on the representative part of the campus of the University of Malta in Valletta. After the official part, the gathered guests took part in the performance entitled 'Polish-Maltese Duets'.

21.10.2021 VallettaOn October 21, as part of the dissemination of Fryderyk Chopin's works in Malta and the promotion of the 18th International Chopin Competition, a recital of the Polish pianist living in Malta, Julia Miller, took place. She presented selected works by Fryderyk Chopin in St. James Cavalier in Valletta.

20.10.2021 VallettaOn October 20th, the international promotion of the documentary entitled "Code Zero" directed by Piotr Śliwowski, realized by the Polish National Foundation took place at the Valletta Campus Theatre of the University of Malta. The film shows the successes and struggles of the crew of the I Love Poland yacht.

15.10.2021 VallettaOn the occasion of 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Poland and Malta Polish Embassy invites for photo exhibition entitled 'Poles in Malta'. The exhibition can be seen surrounding Teatru Rjal in Valletta from October 14th until November 15th.

09.10.2021 VallettaA plaque commemorating the fallen sailors of the escort destroyer ORP "Kujawiak", which sank off the coast of Malta on June 16, 1942, can be seen in the Upper Barrakka Gardens in Valletta.
