The activities of the US Congress supporting the reinforced presence of US troops on the eastern flank of NATO is one of the topics of the meeting of Tomasz Szatkowski, undersecretary of state in the Ministry of National Defense with a delegation of the US Congress.

Strengthening the US military presence in Poland and military cooperation were the main topics discussed by Deputy Minister Tomasz Szatkowski with representatives of the National Security Council, Department of Defense, Department of State and US Congress.

The North Atlantic Alliance confirmed this course of action, which was given in Warsaw in 2016, so strengthening NATO defense capabilities. We care especially about the NATO’s eastern flank. We have been pointed many times in the group of leaders who spend 2% of GDP on defense - said Mariusz Błaszczak, the minister of national defense, summing up the two-day NATO summit in Brussels.

- Matters that will be discussed among the heads of governments and heads of state concern the increase of defense capabilities of the North Atlantic Alliance – said today Mariusz Błaszczak Minister of National Defense.

Polish-Slovak cooperation in the bilateral dimension, as well as within NATO, the European Union and the Visegrad Group were the main topics of consultations of deputy ministers of defense of Poland and Slovakia - Tomasz Szatkowski and Róbert Ondrejcsák on July 4th in Warsaw.

– Service of Alliance soldiers, among others here in Latvia is a proof that the groundbreaking decisions taken at the NATO Summit in Warsaw are being implemented, and that Europe and the world may feel safe, because the North Atlantic Alliance is ready to provide defense – said Mariusz Błaszczak, the Minister of National Defense during the meeting with soldiers serving in Latvia.

– PESCO is to complement the defense capabilities created by NATO. It is important to us that the opportunities created by the European Union are used for common security – said Mariusz Błaszczak, the Minister of National Defense in Luxembourg.

- We are grateful that British troops are stationed in Poland, that we can train together, that our troops improve their skills, and thanks to that, the defense potential increases - said Mariusz Błaszczak, Minister of National Defense after talks with Gavin Williamson British defense minister.

Tomasz Szatkowski, undersecretary of state in the Ministry of National Defense, held talks with the Director of the US Missile Defense Agency (MDA), Lieutenant General Samuel A. Greaves and with Lieutenant General Todd T. Semonite, Commander of the US Army Corps of Engineers.

Current issues of Polish-American cooperation in the field of security and defense were the main topic of the conversation between Tomasz Szatkowski, undersecretary of state in the Ministry of National Defense and the deputy commander of the US Army in Europe Major General Timothy McGuire.
