76th Anniversary of the Liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau. The International Holocaust Remembrance Day

January 27, 2021 we celebrate the 76th anniversary of the liberation of the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz - Birkenau. The United Nations has declared this day the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
The main topic of this yer's celebration of the anniversary in Auschwitz Memorial is fate of the children, who were deported to the camp or were born there.
It is estimated that at least 232, 000 children were deported to Auschwitz, of which approximately 216 thousands were Jews, 11 thousands - Roma, approximately 3 thousands - Poles, over 1000 Belarusians, several hundreds - Russians, Ukrainians and others.
In total about 23,000 children and adolescents were registered in the camp from whom slightly over 700 were liberated in Auschwitz in January 1945.
