04.05.2021On 02/05/2021, on the occasion of the Day of the Polish Diaspora and Poles Abroad, the Day of the Flag of the Republic of Poland and the 230th anniversary of the Constitution of 3 of May, in front of the Monument of Polish Aviators at the Vestre Gravlund cemetery in Oslo has taken place the ceremony of hoisting the Polish flag on the mast, laying bouquets and lighting candles.

03.05.2021When on 3 May 1791 the Four-Year Sejm also called the Great Sejm adopted The Government Act of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth later known as the Constitution of 3 May, the Polish-Lithuanian state became the Europe’s first and the world’s second that passed the basic law. For its time, it was a progressive and bold legal act which initiated a number of reforms. It also constituted a crowning achievement of the centuries-old links between Poland and Lithuania.

02.05.2021The Day of Polish Community and Poles Abroad was established in recognition of the historical contribution of diaspora communities to the national objectives of the country of their forefathers. Celebrated jointly with Polish Flag Day, it is intended to encourage Poles to reflect on the glorious pages of the country’s past.

20.04.2021April 19, on the 78th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising the Ambassadors of the Republic of Poland and the State of Israel in the Kingdom of Norway, Iwona Woicka-Żuławska and Alon Roth, laid flowers at the monument commemorating the deportation of Jews from Norway during World War II in Oslo.

13.04.2021On April 10, 2021, on the 11th anniversary of the Smoleńsk Catastrophe, a representative of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Oslo laid a wreath at the Vestre Gravlund cementery commemorating this tragic event. On the occasion of upcoming #Katyń Massacre Remembrance Day representative of the Embassy paid also homage to nearly 22 000 Polish citizens brutally murdered by the NKVD in the spring of 1940.

06.04.2021The second edition of the Stanisław Moniuszko International Competition of Polish Music will be held in Rzeszów between 11 and 18 September 2021. The juries will be headed by Jarosław Drzewiecki and Andrzej Tatarski. The musicians can submit their applications for the competition until 14 May 2021 on the dedicated website polishmusiccompetition.pl. The event is organised by the Institute of Music and Dance in collaboration with the Artur Malawski Podkarpacka Philharmonic in Rzeszów and funded by the Polish Ministry of Culture, National Heritage and Sport.

R. Hansen. Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, Leader of Democratic Belarus, gave a special message.
