From 31 May to 1, Zbigniew Rau, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland paid a visit in Norway on the occasion of the informal meeting of foreign ministers of NATO.

THE CONSTITUTION OF POLISH FREEDOM History is a realm of cruel ironies. Not long after the idea of republicanism reached full maturity in the First Polish Republic, there was a collapse, and our homeland disappeared from the world map. The Government Act of 3 May 1791 was ratified in a ‘dying moment that has restored us to ourselves’, as we read in the Preamble to the Constitution. In the turbulent time of the partitions, our ancestors faced the question of their identity. The answer they gave has remained relevant for two hundred and thirty years. In the 21st century, it still defines who we are.

Woicka - Żuławska and Ambassador of State of Israel Avi Nir-Feldklein toghether with citizens of Oslo laid the daffodils in front of monument commemorating deportation of Norwegian Jews to German nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau during Second World War. #WeRemember

We Are Custodians of This Memory. 80th Anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising In April 1943, on the eve of the Jewish holiday of Passover, the Germans occupying the Polish capital surrounded the Warsaw Ghetto – the Jewish quarter they had created – in preparation for its final liquidation. On 19 April, the German police and SS auxiliary forces entered the ghetto to complete the extermination. Its residents took refuge in bunkers and hideouts. Jewish insurgents attacked the Germans with firearms, Molotov cocktails and hand grenades. Two German vehicles were set on fire with petrol bottles. The surprised occupiers were initially unable to break through the fierce resistance of the ghetto defenders.
