Opening of the exhibition "Mirror Kingdoms - Poland and Norway in the Middle Ages"

On March 21st, the official opening of the exhibition "MIRROR KINGDOMS – POLAND AND NORWAY IN THE MIDDLE AGES" took place at the Historisk museum in Oslo.

The exhibition - dedicated to the similarities and differences of the medieval Kingdoms of Poland and Norway - has been prepared in cooperation with the University of Warsaw and Universitet i Oslo as part of the research project "ELITES Legitimization of the Elites in Poland and Norway, c. 1000-1300" financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014 - 2021.

THE EXHIBITION WILL BE OPEN TILL THE END OF 2024 (with a break in April-May this year).

During the opening ceremony introductory speeches were delivered by: prof. Aud Tonnesen, Director of the Historisk museum project leaders - Grzegorz Pac (University of Warsaw), Wojtek Jezierski and Hans Jacob Orning (University of Oslo) and Tomasz Orłowski - charge d'aff of the Embassy of Poland in Oslo.

The ceremony was aslo honored by the performance of the Polish-Norwegian choir "Singing Without Borders", which sang traditional Polish songs "Bogurodzica", "Gaude Mater Polonia" and "Prayer for Peace", as well as presentations of young scientists on various aspects of medieval Norway and Poland' functioning.
