Opening of new Honorary Consuls offices in Bohol

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Manila is pleased to announce the official opening of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Poland in Tagbilaran City (Bohol), which took place on March 5, 2026.

This significant milestone marks the establishment of the first Polish honorary consular post on the island of Bohol, further strengthening the diplomatic presence of the Republic of Poland in the Philippines.

The ceremony was presided over by the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Polish Embassy, Ms. Katarzyna Wilkowiecka, and the Consul of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Sebastian Kmita. During the event, Ms. Zarah Socorro Dejaresco was formally introduced as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Poland in Tagbilaran City. The inauguration was graced by high-ranking local officials, including the Governor of Bohol, Erico Aristotle Aumenado, First District Congressman John Geesnell Yap, and Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Censoria Yap.

In their addresses, the representatives of the Embassy and the local government highlighted the vast potential for cooperation in tourism, agriculture, and economic development. The new consulate will serve as a vital link for Polish citizens visiting the region and as a catalyst for fostering cultural and business exchanges between Poland and the Province of Bohol.
