Europe Day celebrations in Qatar

13.05.2026

On 13 May 2026, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to the State of Qatar, Tomasz Sadziński, took part in a meeting of the Heads of Mission of the European Union Member States accredited to the State of Qatar, organised on the occasion of Europe Day. The meeting was hosted by the Ambassador of the European Union to Qatar, Dr Cristian Tudor, who is concluding his mission in Doha this year.

There are currently 19 embassies of EU Member States operating in Qatar, and since 2022 the European Union has also had a resident Delegation in Doha. The meeting provided an opportunity to underline the growing importance of EU–Qatar relations, encompassing political dialogue, energy cooperation, education, innovation, people-to-people contacts, and regional security issues. Since December 2025, work has been underway on concluding the EU–Qatar Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA).

In recent months, EU–Qatar cooperation has gained particular momentum in the context of the regional security situation. Representatives of the European Union expressed solidarity with Qatar and condemned attacks targeting its territory and infrastructure. Discussions are also continuing on deepening the EU–Qatar strategic partnership, including in the areas of energy, trade, investment, mobility, and regional cooperation.
