Activity of the Polish Presidency in the EU Council in the area of consular cooperation

Meeting with Consular Dep Director

On 9th April 2025 Head of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland to the State of Qatar Mr Tomasz Sadziński representing the Presidency in the EU Council together with the EU Ambassador to the State of Qatar Mr Cristian Tudor, held a joint meeting with H.E. Ambassador Mr Muhammad Abdullah Saeed Al-Subaei, Director of the Consular Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar.

The discussion focused on strengthening cooperation in consular affairs, including protection of EU nationals residing in or travelling to Qatar. Particular attention was given to streamlining communication mechanisms and improving communication in crisis situations, as well as exchanging good practices in the field of consular assistance. The parties also exchanged views on recent cases and trends in consular matters.

The interlocutor expressed gratitude for the cooperation so far. The parties confirmed their openness to constructive dialogue on consular matters of mutual interest.
