31.05.2025
In connection with Poland’s Presidency of the Council of the EU, on May 31st this year, the Embassy organized a concert featuring Polish and European songs. The event took place at the prestigious Highmore jazz club in the Waldorf Astoria Lusail Hotel—well-known for hosting musical and artistic events. The musical trio performing included Agnieszka Krzyżanowska (Polish violinist/vocalist), Monika Bulanda (drummer/vocalist), and Vladimir Minev (pianist). The repertoire featured songs—performed in a swing arrangement—by authors such as Ludwik Kern, Sławomir Wolski, Henryk Wars, Janusz Pospieszalski, and Zbigniew Kurtycz, along with international standards such as Parole, parole, Je veux, and Moonray.
Opening the event, the Head of Mission, Tomasz Sadziński, emphasized Poland’s contribution—as the Presidency of the Council of the EU—to strengthening European security and the community of interests, but also as the role of culture as a platform for building dialogue, understanding, and international cooperation.
The event was attended by 60 guests, including heads of diplomatic missions from the EU and partner countries, representatives of Qatari institutions, business communities, the Polish Armed Forces, and the Polish community in Qatar. The goal was to promote Polish cultural heritage, showcase Polish artists working in Qatar, and highlight Poland’s growing role within the European Union—especially in light of the achievements during its presidency.
The concert served as both an artistic culmination of the presidency and a means of promoting Poland as a modern country—open to dialogue and actively engaged in shaping a common European identity.
