Poland in Qatar

On 30 May 2025, during the end-of-school-year ceremony, the Head of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Qatar, Mr Tomasz Sadziński, together with the Consul of the Republic of Poland in Doha, Mr Aleksander Parzych, presented Ms Edyta Gierycz, Director of the Witold Pilecki Polish School in Qatar, with the Honorary Badge of Merit “For Services to the Polish Diaspora and Poles Abroad” awarded by the Polish Prime Minister Mr Donald Tusk.

In his remarks, Mr Sadziński expressed particular appreciation for Ms Gierycz’s many years of dedicated service in advancing Polish education in Qatar.

Over the past 12 years, Ms Gierycz has built a true centre of Polish education and culture in Doha. Thanks to her passion and selfless commitment, Polish language, history, and traditions continue to thrive in Qatar on a daily basis.

The ceremony was attended by teachers, students, and their families. Colourful artistic performances prepared by the students added to the festive atmosphere and were warmly received by all guests. The event was marked by heartfelt emotions, joy, and pride in the accomplishments of the passing school year.

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Doha warmly congratulates Ms Edyta Gierycz on this distinguished honour and extends its sincere thanks to the entire school community for their invaluable contribution to fostering a strong and united Polish community in Qatar.
