Poland in Qatar

On 15 December, the Embassy organised a workshop entitled “Hybrid Threats in the Information Space: Lessons Learned between the Gulf and Europe.” The event was held in cooperation with the Middle East Council on Global Affairs think tank. It focused on exchanging experiences on combating disinformation and strengthening institutional and societal resilience. The meeting brought together Polish, Qatari, and international experts specialising in disinformation, information manipulation, and broader hybrid threats.

The meeting was attended by Katarzyna Szaran, Director of the Department of Strategic Communication and International Counter-Disinformation at the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During her visit to Doha, she also held meetings at the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Al Jazeera Media Network. These meetings aimed to deepen expert dialogue in the field of strategic communication and countering disinformation and hybrid threats, as well as to expand engagement with partner institutions in Qatar.

The visit confirmed the growing importance of cooperation between Poland, the European Union, and Qatar in the field of information security and hybrid threats.
