May 3rd Constitution Day
03.05.2025
On May 3rd, we celebrate one of the most important national holidays of the Republic of Poland – the anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of 1791. It was the first modern constitution in Europe and the second in the world, introducing political reforms in the spirit of the Enlightenment, strengthening the state and civil rights.
Adopted in a time of great challenge for the country, the May 3rd Constitution symbolized the political maturity and courage of reformers who sought to secure the future of the Commonwealth through dialogue, compromise, and a commitment to the common good. To this day, it remains a source of national pride and inspiration.
The Embassy of the Republic of Poland proudly commemorates this anniversary, paying tribute to the authors of the May 3rd Constitution and to all those who, throughout history, have worked for a strong, democratic, and sovereign Poland.
On the occasion of Constitution Day, we extend our warmest wishes of peace, unity, and prosperity to all Poles at home and abroad.
