Meeting of the heads of EU missions with the Director of the European Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

On 26th May Tomasz Sadziński, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Republic of Poland in the State of Qatar, participated in a meeting of the heads of EU missions with the Director of the European Affairs Department at the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Fahad Al Kafoud. The purpose of the meeting was to deliver a démarche from the EU Member States regarding the European Union’s position on a ceasefire and lasting peace in Ukraine.

The discussion included an exchange of views with the host, who presented Qatar’s current position on Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, as well as the scope of Qatari humanitarian support for Kyiv. He committed to conveying the EU’s position to the Ministry’s leadership.

The heads of EU missions expressed appreciation for Qatar’s efforts in the peaceful resolution of conflicts through mediation, including in relation to the full-scale war in Ukraine, and voiced hope for continued engagement in this regard based on the principles of the United Nations Charter and the international legal norms promoted by Qatar.
