New IT tool in the appointment registration system for applying for a Polish national visa
24.03.2026
Effective 30 March 2026, the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Doha informs about the implementation of a new IT tool designed to facilitate the appointment registration process for persons submitting an application for a Polish national visa through the online appointment registration system e-Konsulat.
The new tool includes online visual verification of the applicant’s identity and identity document (video verification).
This solution is being introduced in order to enhance security and improve the standard of services provided by the Consular Section, while also helping to streamline the allocation of appointment slots in view of the continued demand for visa appointments.
The video verification service is provided by an external service provider for a fee of EUR 7 plus VAT. The provider offers 24/7 technical support (helpdesk) and ensures a high level of security for all processed data.
Applications submitted through the new tool are directed to the pool of pending applications, in accordance with current practice. At the stage of automatic appointment allocation, priority is given to applicants who have completed the video verification process. Other applicants may be scheduled for an appointment at a later stage, after the pool of applications submitted through video verification has been exhausted.
At the same time, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Doha is currently operating under special operational conditions due to the security situation in Qatar and the precautionary measures in place. These circumstances also affect the organisation of consular work, including the availability of appointment slots.
In order to ensure the safety of both applicants and consular staff, the availability of consular appointment slots has been temporarily limited. Before proceeding with the appointment registration process, applicants are kindly requested to take note of the following:
• waiting times for available appointments may be longer than usual,
• appointments may be available only for selected urgent categories of cases,
• appointment availability may depend on the current operational situation of the Embassy.
Further adjustments to consular operations will depend on the development of the security situation in Qatar. Applicants are encouraged to regularly follow updates published by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Doha.
In addition, in light of the current security situation, the standing guidance issued by the Qatari authorities to remain in a safe place, and specific organisational constraints, we kindly remind you that the Embassy is not in a position to ensure the safety of visitors in the event of a sudden threat.
Accordingly, we respectfully request that you attend in person only in genuinely necessary cases, refrain from arriving before your scheduled appointment time, and strictly follow the instructions of the Embassy staff.
The Embassy reserves the right to amend or cancel these visa appointments at any time, depending on the security situation.
