Poland in Qatar

Photographs of Polish folk costumes are presented at the exhibition that was opened in Pavilion No. 47 in Katara Cultural Village.

Polish delegation headed by President Andrzej Duda met with the Emir of Qatar His Highness Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, participated in the Qatar Economic Forum and held talks with Qatar's Minister of Transport Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti, as well as the head of the Qatar Investment Authority Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saoud Al-Thani.

The President met with the Polish militaries from PMC Iraq stationed at the Al Udeid Air Base near Doha.

The Polish Embassy in Doha held a joint celebration of the 3rd May Constitution Day, the 20th anniversary of Poland's accession to the European Union, and 35th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Poland and Qatar. The Qatari side was represented by H.E. Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi, Qatari Minister of Justice, and H.E. Ambassador Ibrahim Yousif Fakhroo, Director of the Department of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On the occasion of the Polish national day, the Sheraton hotel, where the celebration took place, was illuminated with the colours of the Polish flag.

A young Polish painter, Ewa Macheta, who currently works in Qatar, presented several of her works during the reception on the occasion of the Polish Constitution Day.

The topic of the talks was the largest Qatari investment in Poland - the Deepwater Container Terminal in Świnoujście.

The "Portiernia Sztuki" theatre group conducted classes for students, parents and teachers of the Polish School in Qatar.

The Polish Consul in Qatar participated in the anniversary celebration of the school community.

The meeting concerned the current situation in Ukraine, and the prospects for Polish-Ukrainian economic projects.
