03.03.2022Doha Forum 2022On 3rd March, Mr. Janusz Janke, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Qatar attended a meeting with Mr. Mubarak Ajlan Al-Kuwari, director of the Standing Committee for the Organization of Conferences in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting focused on the state of preparations for the Doha Forum 2022.

02.03.2022EU Envoys in Doha present a démarche to the Ministry of Foreign AffairsUnder the aegis of the French Embassy, who at the moment locally preside over the EU diplomatic representations in Doha, H.E. Mr. Janusz Janke, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, formed part of the delegation of the EU Ambassadors to make a démarche to the Foreign Ministry of the State of Qatar. The démarche was presented during a meeting with H.E. Mr. Ali bin Khalfan Al Mansouri, Director of Department of International Organizations, held earlier today. In the démarche the Ambassadors conveyed a joint decision of the European union condemning in the strongest possible terms the Russian Federation’s unprovoked and unjustified military aggression against Ukraine. The envoys also informed Qatar of their position and thanked the Qatari authorities for joining the ongoing efforts at the United Nations by co-sponsoring and voting in favour of the resolution planned to take place on 2nd March at the United Nations General Assembly.

01.03.2022FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Final DrawOn 1st April Ambassador J. Janke attended the Final draw ceremony which saw the drawing of football teams within groups participating in the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022. A delegation of the Polish Football Association was present at the event.

27.02.2022#StandWithUkraineOn 27th February Ambassador J. Janke held a meeting with H.E. Mr. A. Kuzmenko, Ambassador of Ukraine in Qatar, regarding the provision of humanitarian aid to Ukraine. The Ukrainian ambassador outlined the picture of the current situation in Ukraine and thanked for the enormous help that the Polish government and the Polish community provide to the Ukrainian refugees fleeing their war-torn country.

05.12.2021Bilateral cooperation in civil aviationThe Polish Air Navigation Services Agency and the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority signed on December 5th in Doha, during the visit of the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, to the State of Qatar, a letter of intent regarding the development of cooperation in the field of civil aviation. The agreement opens up new opportunities for cooperation between both institutions, including in the field of air traffic control with the use of modern IT tools.
