Poland in Qatar

The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) invites high school and university students for virtual education fairs dedicated to studies and PhD opportunities in Poland that will be held on Thursday, April 22.

On 23-27 March the embassy organized the Polish national stand at the AgriteQ & EnviroteQ fair, where Polish companies from the agri-food sector were promoted, including Polish brands present on the Qatari market.

On March 8th H.E. Mr. Janusz Janke was once again received by the Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss current cooperation in the field of aviation and communication technologies, as well as to analyze the prospects for its development in the context of the Internet Governance Forum planned in Poland in December 2021 and the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022.

On March 1st H.E. Mr. Janusz Janke and the chairman of the Qatar-Poland Business Council (QPBC), Mr. Daniel Dybala, visited the Qatar Science & Technology Park and met with the Executive Director, Mr. Yousouf A. Al-Salehi and Investment Director, dr. Danny Ramadan. The purpose of the visit was to learn more about the scope of activities of the Qatari institution and to discuss the possibilities of establishing cooperation with Polish start-ups operating in the area of new technologies and innovative solutions.

On February 24th ambassador Janusz Janke met with dr. Salih Al Marri, Deputy Minister responsible for health issues in the Ministry of Public Health. The aim of the meeting was to discuss the possibilities of further cooperation in the field of healthcare management, IT technologies for this sector, as well as the development of academic and scientific exchanges.

Prospects for the development of Polish-Qatari cooperation in the field of defense were the subject of a videoconference organized on February 22. Representatives of the Embassy, the Polish defense sector, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of National Defense participated.

Thirty years ago, on 15 February 1991, the presidents of Poland and Czechoslovakia, and the prime minister of Hungary signed the Declaration on Cooperation between the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic, the Republic of Poland and the Republic of Hungary in Striving for European Integration in the castle of Visegrad, Hungary.

On February 11th representatives of the embassy, the Qatar-Poland Business Council (QPBC), Aqvarius Company and the Public Works Authority "Ashghal" attended the online meeting which aimed at identifying potential areas of Polish-Qatari cooperation in the construction sector.

We would like to announce that the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Doha will be closed on Tuesday 9th February 2021.

On February 3-4, at the invitation of the Qatar-Poland Business Council (QPBC), the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Doha participated in online meetings with the Polish-Asian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce. The discussions covered the establishment of working cooperation between the institutions in order to strengthen the economic ties between Poland and Qatar.
