Poland in Qatar

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland, in collaboration with the Cultural Village Foundation – Katara, has organized an exhibition presenting the manuscript “Concerning the Horses of the Orient and Those Originating from Oriental Breeds” written by a Polish enthusiast of the Orient, count Wacław Seweryn Rzewuski. The official opening took place on February 2th, 2021 in the presence of, among others prof. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Manager of the Foundation, Janusz Janke, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to the State of Qatar, as well as representatives of Polish community in Qatar. The exhibition is part of the program of the International Arabian Horse Festival 2-6 February 2021.

On January 30th ambassador Janusz Janke and representatives of the Qatar-Poland Business Council visited the production facilities of Agrico, the largest producer of fresh, organic vegetables, herbs and mushrooms in Qatar which applies modern agricultural methods including hydroponics and exposure to specialist LED lighting.

On January 25th ambassador Janusz Janke and representatives of the Qatar-Poland Business Council visited the headquarters of the Qatar Meat Production Co. The program of the visit included a meeting with Mr. Fahad Al Khalaf, the CEO of the company.

On January 14th ambassador Janusz Janke met dr Saad bin Ahmed Al Muhannadi, the President of The Public Works Authority 'Ashghal'. The purpose of the meeting was to present the economic potential and services of the Polish construction sector and to discuss potential areas of cooperation.

On January 13th ambassador Janusz Janke met with the prof. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, the General Manager of the The Cultural Village Foundation – Katara. The aim of the meeting was to review joint projects implemented so far and to discuss further development of Polish-Qatari relations in the field of culture.

On January 11th Ambassador Janusz Janke met Karam Elhelawy, the Executive Editor of Arabic-language Al-Watan daily. The meeting aimed at establishing a working relationship and founding opportunities to increase Poland’s visibility in Qatar.

At the invitation of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, the Ambassador has planted a tree in the new Onaizah Park in Doha. The event was attended by Director of Public Parks, Mr. Mohammed Ali Al Khouri.

On December 15th Ambassador Janusz Janke met with the representatives of the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, the President of QCAA, Mr. Abdulla Nasser Turki Al Subaey and the Acting Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Mr. Nasser Al Suwaidi. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the possibilities of cooperation between the QCAA and the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency.

"Juice Studio," the Polish VFX firm behind Netflix's "The Liberator," has just delivered a unique animation piece about the Qatari nation's history.

To further support Polish-Qatari economic relationship the embassy organized, in cooperation with the Qatar-Poland Business Council, a networking meeting aimed at promoting Poland and Polish companies as reliable, competitive business partners, as well as providing information on the Council's objectives and rules and benefits of membership.
