Poland in Qatar

"Juice Studio," the Polish VFX firm behind Netflix's "The Liberator," has just delivered a unique animation piece about the Qatari nation's history.

To further support Polish-Qatari economic relationship the embassy organized, in cooperation with the Qatar-Poland Business Council, a networking meeting aimed at promoting Poland and Polish companies as reliable, competitive business partners, as well as providing information on the Council's objectives and rules and benefits of membership.

On November 16th Ambassador Janusz Janke attended the opening ceremony of the 7th edition of the Qatar International Boat Show with participation by various Qatari officials, including the Minister of Commerce and Industry, H.E. Mr. Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari.

“As the Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Army, I hereby notify belligerent and neutral governments and nations of the existence of an Independent Polish State, within all the territories of the united Poland” – with these words Józef Piłsudski addressed the heads of world powers and notified them about the formation of the Second Polish Republic.

On November 9, 2020, the embassy organized the "Polish-Qatari virtual roundtable", in cooperation with the Qatar-Poland Business Council. The event was organized in the form of a videoconference, with accompanying parallel in-person networking sessions. The online conference included panels covering cooperation in four promising sectors: energy & IT, aviation, finance and banking, as well as research and development. They provided Polish and Qatari institutions and enterprises with an opportunity to present possible joint undertakings and exchange experiences.

On 11 November 1918, 102 years ago, Poland regained its independence. On this day, after his release from the Magdeburg Fortress, Józef Piłsudski took over military command from the Regency Council and, three days later, assumed supreme authority over civilian matters, to finally “as Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Army [...] notify belligerent and neutral governments and nations” of the reappearance of “the reborn and independent Republic of Poland” on the map. After 123 years of captivity, Poland became a sovereign and internationally recognised state.

The Embassy of Poland will remain closed on 1st of November, 2020 due to the All Saints' Day.

On October 26th Ambassador Janusz Janke was received by the Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr. Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti. The discussions covered bilateral relations in the area of aviation, logistics and communication technologies, as well as ways to develop them further.

The MFA organised a series of expert panels and an information and promotional campaign under the slogan “UN Week” to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations Organisation.

Tomasz Sadziński, charge d'affaires a.i. of the Embassy, met dr. Khalid bin Mubarak Al-Shafi, Editor-in-Chief of Qatar's The Peninsula journal. The talks focused on the situation at the Qatar media market and the development of the cooperation between the embassy and the newspaper.
