Poland in Qatar

In response to the provocative and untrue statements by representatives of the highest authorities of the Russian Federation attempting to blame Poland for the outbreak of World War II, on January 9 this year, the Sejm of the Republic of Poland adopted by acclamation a resolution against falsifying of history by Russian politicians.

8-12 January 2020 the second edition of the International Amber Exhibition took place in Doha, with participation of more than 90 exhibitors from around the world, including Poland.

The Embassy presents the statement issued on 29 December 2019 by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland, M. Morawiecki, referring to the historical assessments made by the President of the Russian Federation, V. Putin.

During a visit December 13-15 this year, H.E. Minister J. Czaputowicz took part in the Doha Forum 2019 organized under the motto "Reimagining Governance in a Multipolar World " and held a series of bilateral meetings with representatives of the highest Qatari authorities.

On December 9-10 this year the Conference of the Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption (GOPAC) took place in Doha. Poland was represented by a member of the Polish Sejm (lower chamber of parliament), Mr Jacek Zalek.

The Embassy organized a visit to Doha of the Polish researcher, professor Krzysztof Marycz, Head of the Department of Experimental Biology at Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences from 30 November till 2 December.

On November 22-23 this year, dr Rafal Mlynski from the Faculty of Polish Studies of the Jagiellonian University in Cracow, prepared and led demonstration lessons, workshops for parents and methodical training for teachers – volunteers at the Polish School in Qatar at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Doha.

On 18 November the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, Janusz Janke, visited the headquarters of Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company.

On November 15 the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Doha, in cooperation with the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra (QPO), invited Wojciech Waleczek, an internationally renowned Polish pianist, to perform Fryderyk Chopin’s piano concerto no.1.
