Poland in Qatar

From 12 to 15 January 2026, the Executive Committee of the Inter-Parliamentary Union held its meeting in Doha. The Polish Parliament was represented by Senator Gabriela Morawska-Stanecka, Vice-President of the Committee.

As part of the programme, the Senator took part in the Executive Committee sessions, as well as meetings at Qatar’s Shura Council (Majlis ash-Shura). In addition, accompanied by Ambassador Tomasz Sadziński, she met with the Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council, Dr Hamda Hassan Al-Sulaiti, who has held this post since September 2025 as part of the Council’s new four-year term.

The talks focused on opportunities to strengthen Polish-Qatari parliamentary cooperation, the state of bilateral political, economic and security relations, as well as the regional situation.
